Complete your RITES Vendor Assessment hassle-free. Unlock exclusive benefits and direct purchase opportunities on the Government e-Marketplace.
Vendor Assessment is a mandatory validation process conducted by RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Service) for sellers who wish to register as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on the GeM portal. RITES replaced QCI as the official assessment agency in 2024.
This assessment verifies that the seller actually manufactures the products they intend to list. It involves a thorough check of documents (Desktop Assessment) and a virtual tour of the manufacturing facility (Video Assessment).
Note: Without Vendor Assessment, you can only register as a Reseller/Trader and cannot list your own brand products.

Important Update 2025: Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has replaced Quality Council of India (QCI) as the official GeM vendor assessment agency. All OEM vendor assessment applications, desktop assessment, and video assessment processes are now conducted by RITES.
If you have an existing QCI vendor assessment certificate, it will remain valid until its expiry date. However, for renewal or new applications, you must go through RITES vendor assessment process. The assessment criteria, documentation requirements, and desktop/video assessment procedures remain similar under RITES.
Desktop assessment is the first stage of GeM OEM vendor assessment where RITES verifies your company documents, manufacturing capabilities, financial stability, and quality certifications remotely without physical inspection.
Video assessment is the second and final stage of RITES vendor assessment for GeM OEM registration. A RITES auditor conducts a live virtual inspection of your manufacturing facility via video call to verify production capabilities, quality control, and infrastructure.
We conduct mock video assessment drills at your facility before the actual RITES video call. Our experts guide you on what to show, how to present your manufacturing unit, common questions auditors ask, and best practices to ensure 100% approval in video assessment. We've helped 500+ manufacturers successfully pass RITES/QCI video assessment.
Understanding the difference between OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Reseller/Trader registration on GeM Portal is crucial for choosing the right business model and maximizing your sales opportunities on government e-marketplace.
