In a significant development for Tamil Nadu’s highway infrastructure, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has concluded the technical evaluation for its ₹1,042.8 crore 4-laning project on the Paramakudi to Ramanathapuram section of NH49 (New NH87). Out of 14 bidders, 13 have been declared technically qualified and will proceed to the next stage of the tender process.
The project, which covers a 46.665 km stretch, is being procured via EPROCURE and is set to enhance connectivity in the region. The technical evaluation was finalized on 27 October 2025, with the bid opening having taken place on 18 September 2025.
